See the previous master plans of 1917, 1931, 1952, and 1968 to appreciate the significanceof the changes that have been made with the most recent plan.
The faculty designed and recommended the new entrance at the time the college purchased the golf course in 1957. Forty-five years later (with the most recent Master Plan) the idea has finally come to fruition.
Civil War skirmishes took place here; many artifacts of these events, including bullets, uniform buttons, and other items have been discovered on the site during expansion and construction.
